  • A TW5-powered ebook features two using modes that the user can switch to: Active Reading and Authoring.
  • In both modes, the user can hide or show the Side Bar.
    • In Active Reading Mode, the Side Bar serves to
      1. navigate to an anchor (invisible tiddler) in the text through Search or Table of Contents links
      2. configure various viewing parameters like Night / Day color scheme, font size, etc
    • In Authoring Mode the Side Bar serves to
      1. navigate to a tiddler in the Story River, through Search or Table of Contents links
      2. display the standard tabs of the TW5 Side Bar
      3. configure the interface through the Control Panel
  • In Active Reading Mode the reader can highlight part of the currently displayed text as well as add comments linked to the tiddler currently in sight.
  • Adding comment and highlighting is one same gesture: if a string is already highlighted when the user adds a new comment, the tiddler comment has this string as the caption field. If no string is currently highlighted, then the comment gets a default New Comment caption.
